Founder & Primary Clinician

Cassandra Black is a board-certified music therapist and music minister, having earned her Bachelor's of Music in Music Therapy at Cleveland State University in 2017, becoming board-certified in 2018, and creating a music therapy program at a psychiatric hospital for children in 2018-2020. Cassandra created Song of Songs Music Therapy, LLC in 2021. She and her husband are expecting their first child in August 2022, and will be soon living back near their hometown in Tiffin, Ohio.

She has continued her education by taking Master classes and lessons through Duquesne University in Sacred Music, the Sacred Music Institute, and Catholic Psych Institute. She has also gained experience and training as a music minister all over the nation, having been involved with Dynamic Catholic, Extraordinary Mission, MASS Impact, Divine Mercy Parish, and Cornerstone of Hope.

Song of Songs Music Therapy is devoted to strengthening individuals, couples, & families through the gift of music, in order to better fulfill their life's purpose and thereby find wholeness, happiness, & health as part of their daily lives.

What is music therapy?

Music therapy is an evidenced-based clinical practice of using music interventions to reach individualized goals. Music therapists are credentialed professionals, who have continual training and education, who are skilled in both musicianship and the therapeutic relationship. Music therapy can reach a number of goals including, but not limited to: physical, social, emotional, cognitive, communication, mental, spiritual, overall wellness, pain management, and behavioral goals.
